Rosterra vs MyStudio
A side-by-side comparison: what each platform does well, where they differ, and who each is for.
Updated June 4, 2026
If you are evaluating Rosterra against MyStudio, here is an honest comparison.
Where MyStudio has more
- Pre-built sales funnels. MyStudio ships landing-page templates for trials, paid intros, and challenges. Rosterra has lead capture but expects you to bring your own marketing site.
- Wider third-party integrations. MyStudio has more direct integrations with niche marketing tools and dance-specific apps.
- Larger sales and marketing team. MyStudio has more salespeople, demos, and onboarding sessions if you want a guided launch.
Where Rosterra has more
- Mobile app for families. Rosterra's branded mobile app is more polished and used by more families day-to-day. MyStudio has an app but it is less central.
- Multi-vertical at the same depth. MyStudio supports gymnastics, dance, ninja, and martial arts but treats most of them as variants of one core. Rosterra has vertical-specific terminology, ladders, and reports for each.
- Per-location pricing. Rosterra is flat per location regardless of member count. MyStudio's pricing varies with features and add-ons.
- Tournament engine. Built into Rosterra. MyStudio does not have one.
- Faster product updates. Rosterra ships every 2 weeks. MyStudio ships more conservatively.
- AI-assisted operations. Rosterra is building toward an AI operator. MyStudio has not announced this direction.
- Cleaner data export. Rosterra exposes a full data export at any time. MyStudio export options are more limited.
Where they are similar
- Recurring tuition through Stripe.
- Attendance, kiosk, instructor check-in.
- Belt or rank or level progression.
- Lead pipeline.
- Waivers.
- Event registration and party booking.
- Most reporting.
Pricing
MyStudio's pricing depends on tier and add-ons (advanced reporting, white-label app, ticketing, etc.). A typical mid-size school lands in the 150 to 300 dollar per month range.
Rosterra is flat per location with the white-label app at the higher tier. A typical mid-size school pays 60 to 90 dollars per month.
For most schools, Rosterra is meaningfully cheaper. For schools that lean heavily on MyStudio's marketing funnel templates, the difference may be worth it.
Migration
Rosterra has a direct importer for MyStudio CSV exports. Plan for 2 to 4 weeks of overlap and one day of cutover. The migration article walks through it.
Recommendations
- Martial arts school under 100 members: Either works. Decide based on which feels better.
- Gymnastics, ninja, or dance studio: Rosterra's vertical-specific support is a real advantage.
- You want pre-built marketing funnels: MyStudio has more out of the box here. Rosterra plus a simple landing page builder (Carrd, Webflow) gets you something similar at lower cost.
- You want the cheapest path to good software: Rosterra wins on price.
- You want a salesperson to hold your hand for 6 months: MyStudio has more of that.
How to decide
Trial both for 2 weeks. Configure one program. Compare on the day-to-day experience, especially the mobile app for families. That is the single feature that drives or hurts retention most.
