For parents: how to schedule a make-up class

When your child misses a regular class, your school may issue a make-up credit. You can use the credit to attend a different class without paying for it.

Checking your credits

1. Sign in to your school's parent portal.
2. Tap Make-up credits.

You will see how many credits you have, what they are for, and when they expire. Each credit usually has a window (e.g., must be used within 60 days).

Scheduling a make-up

1. From the credits page, tap Use credit.
2. Browse the available classes. Only classes your child is eligible for show up. (For example, a Yellow Belt credit can be used in any Yellow Belt class.)
3. Pick a date and time that works.
4. Confirm.

The class is added to your child's schedule. The credit is set aside but not yet consumed.

What happens when your child attends

When the make-up class happens and your child is checked in:

• The credit is officially used.
• The class counts toward attendance and progression normally.

If your child no-shows the make-up class, the credit reverts and is available again. (No double penalty for not being able to make it.)

Tips

• Schedule early. Popular classes fill up. Schedule the make-up the same day your child misses the regular class, while you remember.
• Use them before they expire. Most credits expire 30 to 60 days after they are issued. If an expiration is coming up, your portal will remind you.
• Make-up credits do not stack. If your child is absent again before using the first credit, you usually get another. But some schools cap how many you can hold at once.

When you do not get a credit

Make-up credits are issued for legitimate absences, not for skipping. Each school has its own rules. Common ones:

• You get one if the school cancels (weather, instructor sick, holiday).
• You get one if you contact the school in advance to let them know your child will not be there.
• You do not get one for a no-show without notice.

Your school's policy is on the membership page or in their welcome packet.

Group classes only

Make-up credits work for group classes, not private lessons. If your child has a private lesson and misses, the rescheduling happens directly between you and the instructor. Use the messaging feature in the portal to coordinate.

What if you have used all your credits but want to attend an extra class

Some schools sell drop-in passes for non-members or as add-ons. Ask at the front desk. Others encourage you to upgrade your membership to one with more classes per week if you find your child is consistently wanting more.
