For parents: signing up for an event

How to register your child for a tournament, seminar, party, or special event from your parent portal.

Updated June 4, 2026

When your school runs a special event (a tournament, a seminar, a parent's night out, a birthday party), here is how to sign up.

Finding the event

There are usually three places to find events:

  1. Your dashboard highlights upcoming events under "Coming up."
  2. The Events page in the portal shows everything coming up.
  3. A direct link the school sent you by email or text.

Signing up

  1. Tap the event.
  2. Read the details. Date, time, location, who is eligible, what to bring.
  3. Tap Sign up.
  4. Pick which of your children are attending (if you have multiple).
  5. Pay if there is a cost. Most events use your card on file; some have a one-time payment.
  6. Confirm.

You get an email confirmation. The event shows up on your dashboard's "Coming up" section.

What if there is a wait list

Popular events sell out. If you see "Wait list" instead of "Sign up," you can still join. Tap it, fill in the same info, and if a spot opens up, the system automatically registers you and emails you to confirm.

You can leave the wait list at any time from your dashboard.

Bringing a friend or guest

Many events allow guests. If they do, the registration form has a "How many guests?" field. Add them; they pay the same per-person fee (or you pay for them).

For events where the guest is a non-member (a friend trying out the school for the first time, a grandparent attending a recital), the form may ask for the guest's name and contact info.

Cancellations

If something comes up and you cannot attend:

  1. Open the event from your dashboard.
  2. Tap Cancel registration.
  3. Confirm.

Your refund (if any) depends on the event's cancellation policy. Most events refund fully up to a certain date and not at all after. The policy is on the event page.

What to expect the day-of

A reminder text and email go out the day before, usually with parking, what to bring, and a check-in code. For ticketed events, the email has your tickets as a QR code.

If something changes (weather, schedule), the school can broadcast updates. Make sure push notifications are enabled in your settings.

After the event

Some events generate a certificate (a tournament finish, a seminar attendance). It shows up under Certificates in your portal automatically. Most parents print these for their kids.

Common questions

Can I sign up for a class without my child being a member? Yes, if the event is open to non-members. The event page says who is eligible.

My child is in two events at the same time. You will be warned during signup if the dates overlap. Pick one.

Can my spouse sign up our child without me knowing? If you both have access to the portal as co-guardians, yes. The other parent will see the registration in the dashboard.

Can I pay later? Some events allow installment payments or pay-at-door. The event page shows the options.

I missed the registration deadline. Contact the school. They can usually add you if there is room.
