For parents: downloading a certificate

How to find, download, and share certificates your child earns at school.

Updated June 4, 2026

When your child is promoted, completes an event, or earns a milestone, the school generates a certificate. Here is where to find them.

Where to find certificates

  1. Sign in to your parent portal.
  2. Tap Certificates in the menu.

You see a list of every certificate your child has earned, with the most recent at the top. Each one has a date and a title.

Downloading

Tap any certificate to open it. You see a preview. Tap Download PDF to save it to your phone or computer.

Most parents print the PDF on regular paper or photo paper. Some schools sell certificate frames for sale at the front desk.

Sharing

Most certificate viewers have a share button:

  • iPhone or iPad: tap the share icon to AirDrop, message, or email.
  • Android: tap the share icon for similar options.
  • Computer: download the PDF and attach to email or post on social media.

If you post to social media, tag your school. Schools love this and often re-share.

Certificates for siblings

If you have multiple kids at the school, switch between them with the dropdown at the top of the portal. Each child has their own certificates.

What about old certificates

Certificates go back to whenever Rosterra started tracking your child's progress. If your child has been at the school longer than that, the older certificates may not be in the system. Ask the school if they can issue replacements.

What if a certificate is missing

If your child was promoted but you do not see a certificate:

  • Wait 24 hours. The certificate is generated when the head instructor approves the promotion.
  • Check that the promotion is recorded under Progress. If the rank shows up there but the certificate does not, contact the school.
  • Sometimes a certificate template change takes a moment to apply. The school can re-issue if needed.

Certificate quality

The certificate is a PDF that prints well on:

  • Letter or A4 paper.
  • Photo paper for a nicer look.
  • Card stock for framing.

The school's logo and your child's name should be crisp at any print size up to 11x14 inches.

Custom certificates

Some schools customize the certificate template, others use the default. The look is decided by the school, not by Rosterra. If you have a request (a translation, a different name format), ask the school.

Sharing on social media

A few tips:

  • Include the rank and date in your post.
  • Tag the school and any siblings or training partners.
  • Use the school's hashtag if they have one.

This is good for your child (recognition) and good for the school (free marketing).

Lost certificates

PDF certificates do not get lost. You can re-download at any time, even years later. The portal keeps them all.

If for some reason a certificate is no longer available (rare; would only happen if your account was archived), the school can issue a fresh copy from their side.

Printing in bulk

If your child has earned many certificates and you want to print them all (say, for a portfolio or a binder), download each one and print together. Most printers can batch multiple PDFs.

Or ask the school. Many will print a stack on nice paper for a small fee.
